There’s a lot happening in men’s tailoring for the Spring 12 season, and we’re only beginning in Milan! We could already count the ways with 3-button blazers, sleeveless blazers, and now elongated blazers. There’s a couple things that brought on this particular shape. First, we have been seeing elongated shapes in menswear for the past few seasons in wovens and knitwear, so it was bound to strike tailoring. Elongated silhouettes have been adapted to both single and double breasted styles, but what’s perhaps most interesting is that we’re starting to see those low-button stances incorporated with elongated styles. Broad shoulders also work in the 50s flavor of Costume National’s Teddy Boys.
